Do you tune your daily driver?

Do you tune your daily driver?

This is more for those of us that can not yet afford to have a Porsche as a daily driver but if you are so lucky please share.

I am just curious as there are a lot of very tasteful car guys on this forum; I would be very surprised of you all drove bone stock autos.

Please post a link photo (no photos allowd in OT?) and brief description…..

No, I like to have a reasonably stock DD. I spend so much money on race cars that I have little money left to tune a DD street car.

I don't tune my tow truck, either. It's also bone stock.

I did not know what you meant by "tune" I thought it was in refrence to carb adjusting, spark and cam timing etc. As for modifying cars, only factory updates or close to it. If any thing undoing PO mods. So for me, the answer is no.

    Thanks, for the input.

I guess that I was vague on my language above. By “tune” I was trying to imply sensible modification in order to improve performance but in the same token not cut corners and have the vehicle become less drivable or reliable.

I really enjoy having a very nice 911 to restore and modify (with in some self set boundaries of course). On the other hand it is nice to have a vehicle that I can change with little worry of “destroying a prime example”.

Vintage, I see where you are coming from; I understand your frustration as where to divert the funds. With me it just depends on the month/season. On a related note…Have you ever gone to the drag strip on “diesel night”? Boy that was a sight…

    Thanks again,

Whoa Fritz, I thought the same thing...

Tune as in 'tuner-car' ... got it ...

    No on both counts...

No, I don't 'tune' it for performance.... Stock Chevy S10 pick-up

And no, I don't 'tune it' for maintenance because I don't know what the hell I'm looking at when I open the hood.....

I do however change the oil and filter every 3000...
Oh, I did change to a K&N re-cleanable air filter...

    Cheers,
