35mm slide film is pretty good resolution...you can almost make out the Glaverbel text on the windshield.

Reviving this thread as I'm now the owner of the Tangerine 69. I've had it since roughly May. We moved to Vegas from Vancouver so the car is in LA at the moment.
Should have it in the next few weeks!

Luckily a good pal has been driving it every few weeks for 40ish miles at a time to keep the fluids moving.

Anyway, really cool to see those pics!

Here she is with both tops.

That looks like Ralph Boothe's former car. Do you still have the modified rear deck lid?

It was Ralph's and I sure do have the modified deck lid as well! Everything that Ralph sold the car with, I still have.

I agree, the scoop is very cool. Ralph was pretty creative. I still have a set of his wheel locks.

Thanks for posting Gordon - no idea how I missed this previously. We met at the 50th Porsche Parade in Hershey, PA and I hope you are doing well.

Noticed some interest in earlier posts as to the whereabouts of cars from the '73 Parade event in Monterey. I've owned the above '71 S since 2002, and have all the records, dyno sheets, etc. associated with the motor rebuild by Ginther's mechanic Harold Broughton in 1972. In addition to the 92mm P&Cs, the motor was balanced, the MFI pump was setup by Fairchild, heads were ported to 38mm as were the throttle bodies. Dyno sheet after the Ginther rebuild shows 232.9hp (corrected) at 7K rpm vs 181.1hp corrected prior to the rebuild when the motor had 12K miles on it. Car had airport gears, suspension mods done at that time included polyurethane bushings, 22/28mm torsion bars, large sway bars, etc. This car also took 2nd FTD at the 1975 Parade autocross and participated in many west coast solo events prior to sale of the car in 1982. Had the opportunity to speak with each of the prior owners after I purchased the car, and am fortunate to have formed friendships with two of them. The car ("Klaus") has lived an easy life in my care, wears it's mostly original paint nicely with ~ 48K miles. The white side stripes the car had in the '73 Monterey event were removed at some point in the car's history.

I would like to thank an early contributor to this thread, idart, for adding photos back to his posts that has been lost to a defunct photo hosting service. We communicated recently via PM and he was gracious enough to reload a whole bunch of photos, starting at page 10 of this thread. Amazing stuff for an amazing thread!

(Couldn't find him in the Rally results, but he must have competed to make the score...)

Hope this helps.... Whoa, I need to rest my eyes.......
