    Only 2??

I had no idea. The white with blue prototype lettering was owned forever by ex-Porsche racer and dealer Don Wester [Wester Porsche/Audi in Monterey]. I have a black/white image of it on dealer plates parked in front of his old dealership. It was sold out of his estate and I last saw it still looking pristine and never restored at the 1984 Monterey Historics [featuring Porsche]. I remember taking some photos of it there and having people stop and ask "Is this a new Porsche model?". I was recently thinking about that car and regreting that I never bothered noting the vin. There are always things we learn.

I just recieved several photos of Patrick from the original owner and one of them shows the car at the Pebble Beach concour in 1973. The owner and his family made a road trip out it from IL.

    Check it out.

There have been some great photos put into this thread from the Monterey Parade. Anyone else have any other photos to add? Thanks.

Interesting that Brooks Frybarger (who drove the car in the referenced track event) is still a part of the Porsche community as well...

    Hi Thompson,

Don't you remember seeing Patrick at Pebble Beach that day? Here a couple of photos to jog your memory.

The black paint or whatever is seems to be somewhat common on cars from that period. Check out one of the first photos you posted in this thread for the Light Yellow early 911 on the other side of the red Targa. It has the same black stuff below the rear bumper too. Hard to believe that stuff was exceptable at a Parade Concour.

The black bumper fad is interesting; I saw this '69 at RA last year and thought that it was just a WIP. Maybe it was an early trend...
