I recall attending the CANAM Races at Laguna Seca in Sept or Oct. '73 enroute to my new assignment as a 22 year old CG Engineer Officer. I was driving my rolling resto '64 E-Type 2 seater coupe.

Could you please further speculate what size Fuchs and the tires are? Thank you, I love the look and stance of this Porsche!

Chuck, can you check your book for entry #434. I suspect it's Fred Veitch's...updated license plate in 1974 to "YM 911" with Eagle County Sheriff's Posse topper.

    Al,

They look to me like period 7's (The parade was in August '73 plenty of time to get 7's) …
BTW - I have a 1971 Nicolaus Von Rosenberg catalog that lists Fuchs ('specify width in inches') for $97.65 each...

On second look the tires look to be Firestones...
The size back then for those was equivalent to about a 195 x 50 x 15 with a diameter less than 23"... lots were running that setup for autocross...

Some of the folks on the board that were 'in it' back then could answer you more fully …
In '73 I wasn't into Porsches yet, I was helping my buddy race his SCCA C/Sedan Alfa GTA Jr. …

Here's another pic from the Parade results booklet with a car with a similar setup....

Man, I took a look in all the categories in the results booklet and I couldn't find a listing for Fred Veitch or his number...

Through the years I realize that lots of folks who entered the '73 Parade events with name and number do not show up in the results for one reason or another...

BTW - Fred is still a good friend of Michael Hammond...

The older I get the smaller the print gets...

BTW - The baby on the right is no less then 43 years old now !!!! …

    Indeed it was John....

    Pat Scanlan # 383 - 2.0 911L - San Diego Region

He came in 45th in total points out of 68 entrants who participated in all the Parade events...

    Cheers John,
