She was built from a rare non-sunroof 911SC. The detailed records (including the original window sticker, original spare and tool kit) indicate that the three previous owners maintained and cared for her while she was in their possession. Originally sold in Tallahassee, Florida, serviced at Brumos in Jacksonville, and eventually re-located to Lakeland, the Penny has always been a Florida car. Her body is accident and rust free. The original color, Copper Brown Metallic, was applied to the striped and prepared body. In her transformation, the Penny was put on a significant diet with fiberglass bumpers and duck tail. Frivolous luxuries such as radio, air conditioning, stock seats, and rear seats were deleted. Lite weight carpet, RS door panels, and factory lollipop race seats were installed along with a proper Porsche reproduction roll bar and five point harnesses for safety. Suspension was specifically set up for the rigors of Sebring International Raceway, though it has proven competent at Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, and PBIR too. New Bilstein Sport inserts, 19mm front and 26mm rear torsion bars, and 15x7 front / 15x9 Minilite wheels mounted on meaty Toyo 888’s help keep the Penny planted.

For motivation, a 3.2 liter short stroke motor was built with 964 cams, polished intake and exhaust ports, headers, and Super Trap exhaust which provides ample horsepower and torque for the track. CIS has been retained and works well for the multipurpose nature of the car. A large custom oil cooler is mounted in the front of the car for generous cooling. The gearbox is a custom geared 915 shifted through a precise RennShift shifter. This unit allows exact shifts during the heat of spirited driving.
