    73 911RS Orange - needs pictures

Hi - Im about to respray my "just bought" 911RS clone . My preference is one of the orange colors:

    Tangerine/blutorange 018
    Gulf orange 019
    Signal orange 116

But Im still not sure yet what to choose. Lots of originals came in Tangerine, some in gulf and only a very few in signal orange. Any of you having some nice pictures of your (or somebody elses) RS for inspiration ? Or know a good place to find some ? Thanks

It is very difficult to get an accurate idea of colours from looking at them on a computer screen - & orange is one of the most difficult.

Howevere here are the three shades:

    1) Tangerine:

    2) Signal Orange:

    3) Gulf Orange:

Heritageclassics.com has had a Signal Yellow and and a Gulf Orange listed in their 'Sold' inventory for years. I always loved looking at the pics of those two. I love orange and my favorite is Gulf Orange, it is a bit 'cleaner' than Signal Orange.

    All the best,

    Danskaren,

Sometimes the name changed with no (apparent) change in color.

Also, do you want to limit yourself to colors for your model year car? period correct only? Any Porsche color? Any orange at all?

Be sure to get some samples sprayed out and compare them in sun & shade. No other way to be sure...

What color orange on the hood of a T/R?

A while back somebody posted a picture of this car.

Does anyone hazard a guess as to what color orange this is on the trunklid?

    My trunklid needs a repaint.

Good heavens Chuck! Not only quick on the draw but a beautiful shot from, presumably, RRIII!

    Thank you very kindly!

Thanks a lot guys. Seeing all these stunning beatifull orange 911s I can hardly wait to have mine done.

I think continental might be the best looking (endo: WOW! )
However the 73 911RS didnt come in that shade originally - so I may be tending towards the signal orange - which were also the most rare in 73. Looks as Porsche made less than five RS's in this color.
