    Phenominal '71 240Z Restoration-Hot Rodding

I had the opportunity to drive a new 240Z when in high school (calm down - it was my mother's friend's car) and it was quick and well balanced. I only wished it was mine - what a rush through the twisties. But I digress, anywho, I was was cruising 'the internets' and spied this amazing effort.

This young man is sparing no expense in a ground up restoration. There are plenty of pics but what is really fun are all the well made and very humorous videos he made of the process. And his choice of music ain't bad either. The lead filling process was quite interesting. The car is not finished at this point but it will be fun keeping tabs on the progress.

Much of the effort is very similar to the hot rodding efforts on our cars, bigger motor, brakes, better rear-end, full cage and on and on...

The car I most regret selling was my 71Z. Now my 77Z was another matter. Nothing but bad luck with that car.

"The car I most regret selling was my 71Z. " I hate it when I open up old wounds about cars that never should have been sold.

My first car was a 73 Capri with a V6. What a fun runner that one was. Idrove the wheels off that car. It was planned obsolesence at its finest (or worst). And I still miss the little abomination.

Nahhh! Just means I'll end up with another one after my girls are thru college.

One of my buds in High school had a Capri. We used to dice it up all the time. He sold it and then bought a very early Celica GT.

I had my 77 when I was in the Navy and it influenced a buddy to buy himself a 72. It had already been radically flared w/all glass, stiffened suspension, SSS head and trip carbs. He used to whup my azz on a regular basis. Until......he decided not to wait for me to install a new stereo in it for him. He was rather impatient bout most things. He didn't disconnect the battery and ended up causing a short in the under dash wiring. Loom caught on fire, dash caught on fire, interior caught on fire. He ended up selling it for a song.
