Dave look at the date on the bottom of the page. TKO.....your car is insane cool, the flat 15 really spin the folks up. Imagine if you sold them for deep ones only to find out you were wrong.........that would suck. May I ask what # is your machine, my quess is around 1200-1300. I began seeing the square mirror for sure in the 1350 range and I thought in the May build range.
Dah.....TKO I just saw the number on your signature tag. Ok that makes sense, so about the last 125 for sure and up to 200 S cars got the square mirror. The same case applies with the May and June E and T cars. Mine is the early 71 version car so mine is really a 70 model without the updates of a real 71 car from January of 1971, those cars are a little improved over the early version 1971 cars for the first half year.

My '71 parts book confirms this. Alloy license panel for E and S and rear lid only for S. The date at the bottom of the page is 4/72.

The alloy strut was identified by the Yellow painted dot on it. Just for trivia.
Thx - looks like DC auto has them -- for $40 instead of $15 for the regular ones...
might try one on my FG engine lid.
