The best rock band I have ever seen live....

Pretty jaded anymore, but the first time I saw the Black Keys, I can clearly recall me and my buddy just staring at each other awstruck. Havent missed a show since.

I have never seen two people fill a hall with so much energy and volume....simply amazing!

Personally, I prefer the White Stripes, but it may due to the fact that Jack's drummer is much cuter than the Black Key's drummer.

I do have the recordings of both groups (including a DVD of each group).

The best R&R band that I've ever seen was The Rolling Stones (not recently but when they were younger).

I can't give you my top rock and roll band, but I can list my top one-hundred.

Yeah, favorite band is pretty hard to nail down. Often dependant on mood.
The Black Keys were an easy choice for me for favorite performances though....no doubt about it. I challenge anyone to see them and NOT think they were amazing.

Yeah, Meg is a cuter drummer, but Patrick can actually play them well.

New show dates....they will be in SoCal, Portland and AZ soon.

Not sure if the Black keys have been down here or not but I have three of their albums and would love to see them live.

The Smashing Pumpkins were pretty awesome when I saw them back in the mid 90's

INXS were pretty good ages ago. Any of you guys heard of Midnight Oil?(aussie Band) Those guys used to go OFF!!!!!

Thanks. That is an excellent band that I've never heard of.

What recordings (or DVD) do you recommend? I found these:
    Albums
    • The Tennessee Fire May, 1999
    • At Dawn March/April, 2001
    • It Still Moves September 9, 2003
    • Z October, 2005
    • Okonokos September 26, 2006

And the DVD: Okonokos (DVD) (October 2006)

I still like listening to their old stuff.

Oh yes, I still believe that the band passed away with Michael Hutchence. It's just not the same without him. They were an excellent R&R band. RIP, Michael.

I also still listen to Midnight Oil. Their first album that I remember was a classic. They sort of faded after it.
