Thread: Value of 15x6 Fuchs,

    Value of 15x6 Fuchs,

    Hi Guys,

I'm wondering on the value of four 15x6 Flat 6 Fuchs. They all take the 3 prong cap, they are all have part numbers ending in .361.020. A couple have some curb rash but nothing that couldn't be fixed during refinishing. Come with center caps. I was told they might be worth $800, but with so many types of early fuchs, so many sizes, and so many finish types, its hard to know exactly.

These wheels are black centers on anodized lips, I'd say fine "driver" condition or track wheels, but def. not concourse. Any ideas on value? I want to sell them locally but don't want to give them away, nor ask an exorbitant price.

Would it be worth my time to refinish them in RSR style? Would this contribute to the value enough to make the time investment in refinishing worth while?

    Thanks in advance!

I think you are in the right price range. I’ve seen sets go for less, but I’ve seen sets go for that amount within a few day’s. As a reference: I bought 3 wheels for 400$ a few weeks ago, and bought 2 wheels for 350$.

Sometimes people are prepared to pay more if the wheels are a matching set with the same date stamp on it. If you are restoring a car to the original factory birth certificate, a set of wheels with the correct production month/year can be important to you.

So if you have time to sell the wheels and you want to get the top dollar for it, you post them with the exact Porsche part number (in your case that should be 911 361 020 "00") and the date stamp (see markings in pic) and see what people are prepared to offer. You might end up selling them for a few hundred dollars more then the 800$ you are aiming at.

You probably will have to ship abroad, with the current euro/dollar exchange rate, that’s were you get the top dollar. (and probably accept payment through paypal)

    6x15 Fuchs

Good advice on the date stamp aspect. For example, I'm looking for two or more date stamp 12/72 6x15's in excellent or restorable condition. Would pay a premium.

Good idea on the date stamps, guys. I didn't see them initially, but just found that they are all 7/73 date stamps. Seems inline for the '74 I used to have.

    Interesting...

If the 7/73 date stamped wheels came of your 73 car, then it must have been a very early production model '74.
I have 2 of those exact same date stamped wheels and they came off 1 of the last 5 produced 2.4 coupe's. The car must have been driven out of the factory on one of the last working day before the holiday started.

I also have a 7x15 fuchs with a date stamp 8/73, but the center whole is slightly larger than the 3/73 7x15 fuchs I have. It does hold the 3 prong cap and has the same part number but it won't take the center cap with a ring.

    As said....Interesting subject those fuchses
