    Special Parts!

As the new RSR engine build gets under way, we are having to re-manufacture a few of the rare unobtainable bits that will help make the motor as close as possible to the real thing.

Neil Bainbridge, here in the UK, has made these for it, oil fed camshafts. Starting with EN24 steel billets, they are ground, heat treated and hardened to RSR sprint profile. They have been rifle drilled hollow up through through their length, then the small oil spray holes drilled in each ramp face. New oil feed bolts are being made which hold the cam gears and feed the cams.

The cam gears Neil made are 'vernier' type, so instead of the pin in the hole standard version, with these you have total control over the cam timing, to get it absolutely spot on!

Next step is to make the oil fed chain box covers, was thinking about CNC'ing from the original pair we have on loan, but maybe sand casting is the way forward, anybody know somebody who can do that?

    cheers, Mike

Check with the technical representatives [+41 71 955 38 00] at Buhler Die Casting in Uzwil Switzerland. They manufacture the casting equipment and should be able to point you to a local shop.

    now these are really special!

Solid rockers, made using Formula One technology. These have been designed with the exact pad and foot geometry of the original R/RSR rockers.
They have a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating which gives high levels of hardness, low friction and resistance to wear.
You can see the spiral oil groves on the inside which you need for running with nitrided camshafts.

    cheers, Mike

while the work progresses on the engine build, Neil Bainbridge has had a batch of 2.8 RSR oil coolers re-manufactured along with the larger 3.0 litre one. The build quality is fantastic, they really are beautiful!

Not really posting here as adverts to sell this kind of stuff, more just to show fellow enthusiasts what we are doing for our engine build. Would have put it in For Sale section if that was the idea!
