    PORSCHE Deco Scripts

I have the PORSCHE deco scripts on my '67 because I like the way they look:

But I'm curious as to when and where the scripts were used originally. Were they an option that could be ordered from Porsche? For certain years and/or certain models?

    Thanks,

They have been first seen on race cars but in 1968 the Factory accessories catalogue does not list them as an option.
The 1969 Factory accessories catalogue list them as "Porsche Lettering and striping" white (9361) and black (9362) for all types, including 912.
There was an older post about this Porsche scripts because around 1973/74 they changed to a softer letter design.

    John,
I have always loved the look of your bahama yellow car with the red(orange) script. Most people would go with black. But ketchup and mustard go together perfectly.

I read somewhere that this was the first use of the "PORSCHE" side script. Porsche wanted to make their race cars more identifiable.

    John,
I had posted a pic from Panorama 67/68 of a 911 with the scripts. I can't find it now but it's in the archives.

How about a source for Porsche side script decals. Looking for someone to do a custom color. Interested in an anthracite grey that would match the color I want to paint center spokes on Minilite wheels, with polished lip. Think that would look good on silver car.
