WTT: Recaro Sport Seat Hinges Chrome vs. Black

Have recently bought sport seats in terriffic condition. The only problem are the chrome recliner hinges that are installed. They look nice in combination with black leather, however they are not original for my 73 T.

I hesitate to paint them, as somebody might just look for such hinges for his late sixties car.

Would trade against wrinkled black hinges in corresponding condition.

    Anybody interested ???

    Hello
yes I would gladly swap my black hinges for yours mine are 100% mint , so I hope yours are as well, does the mechanism work well ?
sometimes the recliner stop doesn't work anymore and the backrest falls back.

anyway I live in holland so that is a plus.

    pb sent with my email

    thanks, !!

Black is correct for all years of factory sport seats.....might as well paint them, unless someone wants to be "unique".

The after market period Recaros had chrome hindges

The factory PORSCHE seats came with black hindges but the same RECARO seats sold to outside vendors ( V.B.Haan, N.V.Rosenberg etc) during that period had chrome hindges. I have seen Recaros with double chrome hindges like the stock seats.

Chuck I have both chrome and zink bolts in factory sport seats not sure when the change was?? How's this for adding even more confusion to Sport Seat orininality issues! I just looked and I have both slotted and Philips head chrome screws from factory sport seats. I do know that the correct sport seat screws are impossible to find (8mm with a small doamed head)

    Jeff,

Maybe some of the 'outside' Recaros were chromed by '73...

But my 1971 von Rosenberg catalog No. 971 show them still black....

What'a difference a mere 38 years can bring....

    Cheers
