Classics at La Jolla Cove, 2008

The 4th annual La Jolla Motorcar Classics was held Jan. 13th this year, in one of the most beautiful venues possible, the Ellen Browning Scripps Park at La Jolla Cove. Since it's in my home town, I have always made a point of dropping by for at least a quick look/see, and I've posted some pics of it in the past. This year's featured cars were "pre-1916 horseless carriages", not exactly my cup of tea, but there are always other cars displayed as well, so I went down early to escape the afternoon crowds, while the cars were still being positioned on the lawn.

The weather was fantastic, and there were a few interesting Porsches, Alfas and woodies that caught my eye, as well as some other classics. I don't want to burden the forum with uploaded pics, so I will just attach one here, and if you want to check out the others, I uploaded them to Photobucket for viewing in higher resolution.

No, I didn't see anyone around that car, and I was looking for an owner because it said it was a '68, while I didn't see any side markers on it, so I was going to ask if it was a Euro car or what?

Yah, while I was looking at this car, which was a 1935 MG, I believe, Bill Noon from Symbolic came by with his kids and they were all dressed to the nines--like somebody was getting married or inaugurated or something. I was in sweatpants and a T-shirt pushing my bike around the lawn.

He pointed out the supercharger on the front of the MG to the kids, and showed them how the carb had no air filter at all, so it could just suck in dust and debris, then they skipped along to the next car. It was very cute.
