VARA tech insp.

I understand the annual VARA tech inspection day will be at CAL Speedway on Sat. AM, January 26.

I can't make it, but there should be some nice machines there, parked by marque and/or class (usually) and opened up for inspection for a look see into their innards.

VARA tech was a little underwhelming. Arrived around 9am. Maybe I missed most of the vehicles earlier.

However, I did run into this car and it's owner. We know him as the Stig. Sorry, wrong show. He's our own Fred Trueman, Early S Registry database chair and VARA competitor with his formidable green 67 911S.

Over at the main stadium, SCCA was having an event. I didn't stick around very long but I came across this. I didn't get the details on it, but it looks very nice. Anyone?

I believe that's the new Norma M20F from France. It is an LMP3 car for endurance racing, imported by ATG for the NAMEC series. A couple of them ran in the 25 Hrs. @Thunderhill this year, and I believe they can run CSR in SCCA club racing, depending on the engine installed. For a mere $8,000, you can rent it for a one-day event.
