Hi, You could just get any early 911 tach re-built to S spec, or is the date stamp on the back important?

True Alan, but it would probably be easier just to get something that actually has the correct redline, etc. Date not really important...

    S tach

I may be wrong...but I interpreted Alan's comment to be that it is possible (and economically feasable) to send a T tach to one of the instrument shops and they will both reface the tach to your desired redline, and recalibrate the internals to read whatever you want it to. I checked with Palo Alto and was quoted $125 to recalibrate and reface my early green faced 6200 redline tach. I since have found a tach close to what I was going to create...so I didn't follow through. Based on the escalating price of S tachs...I think sending your own off might be cheaper.

Ah, makes sense- thanks for the clarification- I didn't really know that this was possible- thanks for the heads-up
