    Hello (Newbie checks in)

    Hello.
I'm Dan, and I'm new here. I bought my 1st 911 last summer and have been nursing it back to health bit-by-bit ever since. She's a 71 911T non sunroof 5 pd coupe with 71k.

Here's a pic taken the day I got her home:

    I've done the following:
    Crane ignition
    new plugs, cap, rotor
    turbo lower valve covers
    valve adjust
cleaned and rebuilt the weber 40s, plus new K&Ns/rain trays, new manifold spacers/gaskets
15x6 cookie cutters (I know they aren't correct for a 71, but they were cheap and easy to refinish), with polished lips and gloss black centers...205/60 sticky rubber on the way
    new stock muffler

    Up next:
    address tranny leak(s)
    carb sync/tuning
bleed brakes (recent master cylinder but brakes are still 'eh')
    H4s
    replace driver's seat bottom cushion
    drive it, a lot.

This and pelican parts are the only 2 porsche forums I frequent. Both look to be great resources for the restoration and upkeep of my brown bomb. I'm trying to be a good 'caretaker' and treat this car right.

    Anyway...hello.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.

Sepia Brown? Don't let anyone talk you out of the color. About to be revived. Look at street kids and fashion these days. Brown is the IT color! I think Schraeger is wrong.

Yeah I know sepia brown isn't exactly the most desirable color, but I'm 29 and lucky to be driving any Porsche. I'll take that trade-off any day. Plus, the look is such a stark contrast to the many later 911s I see all over the place, though in a perfect world I'd strip it bare and paint it gp white.

I am going to have the steelies chromed and set them aside for originality. I just wanted wheels that could handle something a bit beefier than 165 tires.

    Thanks for the comments.

Hey Dan- Love your car with the steelies. And you can put 195's on 'em with no problem. I've got them on my '68 (no flares) 912 and they work nicely.
