    car pulling left, faulty lsd?

hi, my car is pulling left underacceleration, not real bad, but still not as it should be. So far we've done an alignment, four-corner balancing, wheel bearings, overhauled the brakes, checked and adjusted all torsion and sway bars, still no luck. All I can think of now, is it must be the LSD differential (915 box), that distributes the power unevenly. Step on the gas; it pulls left. Press the clutch; it goes straight. Do any of you guys have any other ideas or experience with this? Thanks for your input!

With a reg. ZF LSD I (think) it would pull to the left both under and off load.

    Is yours a quaife than?

How are the shocks?? You should be able to fine tune the pull out with somemore alignment work. Has the front pan ever been replaced?

richard, I have never had the gearbox open, so I am not sure which type LSD is inside.
tony, the shocks are good and the alignment was done very seriously. All suspension work was done by Duel Motorsport, a very reputable Porsche shop here in Holland.
The fact that it only pulls under load, and goes straight as an arrow without load or under braking, makes me think something is wrong in the driveline.
I will be replacing the engine, hopefully in a month or so, and I guess I'll have to take a closer look at the diff at that time.
    thanks for the input,

    left pull

Why would a ZF LSD pull to the left or right under load? Seems odd to me. Never heard nor felt that before with my LSD.

I'm interested to hear more on this. I sometimes notice the same sensation, although subtle, in my 73S with factory LSD.

    Arjen,

LSD issues can certainly cause the symptoms you describe.

You can remove it through the side cover, unbolt the ring gear, and disassemble it to inspect all the plates and baskets. Carefully observe the thickness and the order that the plates are stacked in.

This symptom happened to me once on my way to Barber Motorsports park, the car started to pull right under acceleration. One of my rear tires was losing air.

Have you checked the tire pressures?

    Ditto.

Tire pressure check. I've felt it in a '94 Speedster. Accelerate and it went one way. Come off the throttle and it came back. Rear tire low.

Tire pressures are 26 psi cold on all tires (BF Goodrich Comp T/A 225/50ZR15 and 245/50ZR15 on 7&8x15 Fuchs), so nothing weird there I think.
With the rear wheels lifted and turning free, if I spin one rear wheel, the other will turn in the same direction. However, if I spin one rear wheel, my son can easily hold the other still. Is that a clue? Sorry for being ignorant in this....
