    Correct Finish /Fan Housing 67S

    I just cleaned and blasted my fan housing and want to make it spot on correct for my car. I know most do a powdercoat finish but I do not want to duplicate the already nice aluminum finish. I am not a fan(no pun intended) of that 'glossy' colored finish that I see.
    What is the correct factory finish? Zinc,Cad,clear over raw aluminum??

    -I like the finish (pics)on this real nice S rebuild someone sent me. Anyone here do this build? Thanks.

    What you're looking at in that picture is a sand cast aluminum case etc. You can see the difference in contrast to the magnesium fan.

    I'm not certain that "any" sealant was used on the magnesium. Definately not zinc or cad plating. One thing I noticed in the picture is the strap. I "believe" that should be yelow cad. It could very well be the early straps were painted but most I've seen are yellow cad (best to source yellow zinc now)

    Walnut media is the best I've seen on magnesium.

    The early one's are indeed painted black.
