tonneau cover for soft rear window targa?

I just saw the craig list ad posted for a 67s soft window targa on "cars for sale". It mentions a tonneau. My soft window does not have any factory fasteners in the dash area that would work with a tonneau,. I assume the fasteners used for the window boot cover would be used at the rear to secure a tonneau,

Anyone with a picture of a soft window with a tonneau? Anyone have one? Was this a factory option? thanks tom

I think they "could" mean a boot, never have seen a softie with a tonneau, but I suppose it's possible, and I'm sure someone probably did to their car, but I haven't seen it on any option list.

This rare '67 911S Targa is about as original as they come with 100% of it's original paint and interior, both in excellent condition. Original engine runs strong. Polo red with black interior. Sport seats, gas heater, fog lights, tool kit, tonneau, bra, Blaupunkt radio and rare 4.5" Fuchs Alloys. Very well cared for by it's second owner of 38 years. Detailed service records back to 1969. All numbers match per CofA. New shift bushings just installed and tune up completed.

This is a VERY special early 911S and the rarest of all early S configurations, with just over 300 originally produced.
Email or call 415-205-0716 for more information and photos. $105,000. Serious buyers only please.

I got an uninstalled cover for my soft window when I bought my car. I took it out of the box when I got it, and then put it back. It looks to be a piece of vinyl that would need snaps of some sort installed on it and on the car to contain the soft window when it is down by perhaps covering the whole back seat area. I'll try to take some pics and post them.

It was not represented as original, and it does not appear to have a way to install it that was original to the car. It did come with a neat grey vinyl bag to store it in (the "tonneau" if that's what it is, is black). It is rather smelly, which makes me think it is perhaps old.

I have heard of 356 guys installing tonneau covers that cover all but the driver area, which enhances the ability to drive around with the top down by containing the heat and allowing a person's head and shoulders to protrude.

    softie tonneau

I have one for my 69 E softie & if I remember correctly it's shown on the COA

It only goes as far forward as the roll hoop, where it attaches to the little Tenax studs (one on each side), then makes a 90 degree turn and shoots straight down & attaches to the front of the parcel shelf with a couple more Tenax fasteners.

So, it only really covers the rear seat (absent due to parcel shelf) area, not the entire cockpit.

This is from memory as I don't have the car here right now, but that's the basic idea.

Sounds more like a 'boot' than a tonneau

    Any photographs?
