Early 911S.com

It's become obvious that the website, www.early911s.com, is no longer active which is, IMO kind of a shame. Among other things it contained a "registry" of around 900 Early cars that included a lot of data including engine and chassis numbers, colors, options etc. This site also had the largest single collection of photographic images of Early cars anywhere that could be viewed/sorted by type, color, etc.

I think it would be a shame for all of that data to simply disappear. Does anyone here know the person that ran/hosted that site? I corresponded with him once, years ago and he seemed like the kind of person that would have no hesitation in offering that information to us if we indicated an interest. Even if we didn't do anything with it right away, it seems like the Board of Directors of this Registry would want to capture that data before it simply vanishes permanently.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

On another forum (dkk?) I read the owner missed the reneval date/payments to the rights to own the site name and so someone else just bought it off. Not 100% shure on this info.
It would be a great loss. I was on it every other month to check new entries.

To the extent that we could have a page a la 911E registry that incorporates the data from the old 911S page (with updates to incorporate up to date ownership data, etc.), that would be ideal.

use a whois tool to determine the site owner, when they took over, and contact info, etc.

That's the new whois data. The other bloke must have lost interest because
there was a 2 month window where he could have renewed after the provider
cut him off.
