    Starting her up, any advice?

    The time has come for me to try starting the engine. I've scoured
    this board and PP and here's what I plan to do:

    - check tensioners
    - drain oil
    - replace oil with thin oil to flush
    - remove plugs
    - put a little oil in the plug holes to lubricate the rings
    - remove valve covers
    - lubricate valves
    - turn over by hand
    - turn over with starter, check for oil pressure
    - drain oil
    - new oil filter
    - fill oil with quality replacement oil
    - attach fresh fuel container (tank is currently out of car)
    - new plugs
    - ignition!

    Is there anything I've missed here? This is going to be a big day for me
    and the car.

    Keep Halon fire bottle handy, just in case and be careful with alternative fuel source.

    Note to self: inspect spark plug threads before attempting insertion. A
    bad new spark plug put the end to this, it ruined the thread on the head
    so I'm going to have to go the rebuild route now. Probably for the best.
