    Early Dashboard Vinyl W/speaker Holes Available

    Vinyl panels to reupholster early dashboards with speaker holes are now available. Go to eBay #230230108465. I had 8 sets of these pieces laser cut for my own use and hoped to sell the extras. The response was excellent and all the extras were sold within 3 days. I have now had an additional 10 sets made up for those who might have missed the first group.

    Feel free to email me at gjwslw@ameritech.net with any comments or questions.

    Withdrawing Notice

    I have listed the vinyl panels on the Pelican Forum, as well as here. I will make no more efforts on Pelican or here to publicize their availability. See below for an explanation.

    Hi Les,

    You have a valid point and I will let the matter end. The reason I put it there was because there was such an enthusiastic response from people who bought them the first time they were listed. To my knowledge, no one has ever gone through the time, effort and money to reproduce these panels and I have received a number of thank you notes for doing so. That inspired me to order a further 10 sets to offer. If all 10 sets sell, I will recover my costs and make a small profit. If not, I will be out the investment. The project is not an effort to make money. It is an effort to help others who would like to upgrade their early dashboards but had no way of doing so. I'm sorry if the notice comes across as cheap commercialism. It is quite the opposite. Your response shows me I made an error in presenting it as I have. My apologies to any who have been offended.

    [QUOTE=oldE]Jerry,

    I might be a bit out-of-line here, but I wonder if you shouldn't speak with someone at Pelican before selling stuff on their forums.

    There is a used parts forum, but it seems to me you have had these kits made up with the intention of selling them on eBay as well as here. That is, in effect competition for Wayne who has generously provided the forum.

    Please clear it with Pelican or pull the ad.

    Thanks

    Sheesh......

    In my opinion, what Jerry has done is fine on the limited basis he is doing it. Lots of vendors are on both boards pitching their wares, one that comes to mind is Tony from Autobahn.

    No one else sells what Jerry is selling, so there is no competition.

    Sometimes you have to look at the intention in a matter....and I don't think Jerry is trying to make a million bucks, he's trying to help others.

    Jerry, you could email Wayne and ask if he minds....he probably will say no. One thing I noticed is that you posted this in two areas, you should have just put it in the for sale area.

    Ditto. this happens all th etime: a good meaning enthusiast goes through the trouble of making some unavailable parts...available. Cornpanzer built steering wheel spacers: no complaints. VIN sticker? Robmog. Why the complaining here?
