    '75 US Carrera

Someone scooped this up quickly. What are the chances it'll reappear in a month's time at twice the price?

Somebody would have to PROVE the mileage is accurate. I don't believe many claims on cars this old without some accurate records. As for it doubling; there is an ass for every seat.

I'm not sure you can double your money with this one immediately, but read my lips "74-77" are the next 911 group to go through the roof. Especially Carreras. They are lightweight and with proper engine upgrades a blast to own and drive.
Did I mention that I have a 74 for sale?

*Especially* the 74-75 Euro Carreras. What an over-looked car in the U.S. ! Mine's not for sale.

It's all about smog and the laws for the state you live in for that vehicle.

I'll take a '74 over a '75 due to the nature of the smog equipment. These cars were not lighter than their counterparts and are really no more than tarted up "S" models though I still really like them.

The Euro Carrera would be my first choice if I'm going to lay down serious money. Herr Smith's car would be a good option as its power would be on par for a lot less money!

What about the 1974 U.S. model Carreras

Not trying to hijack the original thread.........but since 74 euro carreras are already getting pricey and hard to find. How about the 74 US Carrera???

What do people think is going on with the prices of a U.S. 74 Carrera???

Anyone think that they may have a premium applied to them or are they just going to creep up with the rest of the late 78 SC body styles.

Anyone have a thought on the current value of a 74. how much does it change if you place a larger engine in it and toss the oem motor?

Thanks for all responses private or open.

My impression was the value stems from the motor in the Euro and not so much the flares. You could put frosted wheels and graphics on any ol' SC and get the same thing right? I think maybe the color selection at the time was more desirable (today).

    Yep.

Slow as hell when new (emissions); troublesome engines and not much more than a tarted up "S" (which is sort of like making a silk purse out of a sow's ear).
The Weissachs were another special edition that wasn't much more than paint, interior and wheels. And; you could order 15's on anything. Paying a premium is something that is a recent phenom since they languished forever in the basement. None of these cars have any "huevos" unless someone has been out back.
I speak from experience as I've been around long enough to drive a few and once owned a Weissach.

John Sycip's (sp?) car is a hot one. Not sure if it's euro or US but the motor is tweaked and carb'd if i recall so it doesn't really matter. What you end up with is a beautiful car in a great color with a hot motor and nice sound. Could be any SC or Carerra but for the ultra cool color.

The orange and green cars from that period are pretty hot as well. John Glynn and his buddy have these and i never get tired of the pics.
