    Question Battery Relocation

    Hello -

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a first hand account of how the battery relocation installation went on their 911. Specifically it's the process described in this link - http://www.dietersmotorsports.com/tech/2002/6-2002.htm

I'm thinking about doing this on a 72 911T to replace the two batteries up front. Any comments on how difficult it was, any changes in handling afterward, or the overall end result? Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

Battery relocation, as presented in the article, is used by racers who are looking for better weight distribution. Many street cars use it as well, for tidiness. There are manufacturers, which make kits which fit in the smuggler's box, which are a direct bolt-in (you will have to investigate who - or some one will chime-in). It appears to be a good way to go if not concerned with period correctness. I would have mine there, if my sub-woofer (my companion on multi-day drives) didn't already live there.

Rennline makes a nice one for Odyssey 680 & 925 and other batteries.
