the RS he used in 1973 was a different car than the one he used in 1974 for the London Sahara Munich world cup. That was run in May 1974.
The 74 car had Zoll plates 857 Z 9684. The 857 means the plates were issued at the Stuttgart-Ost license offices. So the car probably was sourced at the factory and destined for export- probably to Zasada but that is not clear. That car went on to do the rally Rideau Lakes in Canada on the 16th of October with Zasada (car #105) and then the press on regardless rally in the USA on the 30th of October.

what we know about car 39
as stated in my post #56 above, car #39 was an RS with Stuttgart registration S AU 6576. I dont know the vin number or who owned it - It may have been Zasada or he may have leased it. It is unlikely that he was paid to drive it as it mostly ran in the Polish championship - not even the ERC events
It seems that Zasada used it in at least 4 1973 events that I have records for ( Tatry, Wartburg, Kormoran and Dolnoslaski) and it looks like in 1974 it was used by Marek Gierowski in the UK and possibly Western Europe (Spain, Tulip rally etc) It had AUTOFARM sponsorship on it in 1974 like the World cup car that Zasada did that year so whether they had any ownership of either car or not I dont know

Hugh, I read the file You sent me and i really don't think LEO ZA 29 is 911 230 0013. It was a wide body car, and 911 230 0013 was a narrow body car when sold to Belgium.
yes but that we 9 months later the Versuch cars had bodies ( and just about everything else) changed around regularly it was one of the cars testing RS parts etc and it only takes a couple of days to turn it from one to the other. they could have taken the car back to stock when getting it ready to sell quite esily

The more photos I see... the clearer it is that the 911 shape is timeless. Great picture!!
