Thread: Zazada's werks ST/RSR proto 911 360 0001

    v123 ,

Since you were talking about 0001 , I just reread Starkey's article. And I asked the first thing of interest that popped into my mind , since so many motors were swirling around it.

I do not know if Mr. Palmer , or Autofarm people spoke of it. But from viewing the shipping Document . It seems that Mr. Jurgen Kannacher was involved in the deal somehow.

And does anyone know what/who at the factory RS 0521 was used for/by ? From your referance of Mr. Palmer saying that from the start (or at least very early) the motor from 360 0521 (0533) was installed. So either it came in the deal to Pa;lmer....or Autofarm already had it (or got it).

If I was to make a quess , I would say this could very well be RS 0521 ? :

    J. Kannacher at Zolder , Sept. / 1974 (those do not look like factory flairs ...*I should say normal factory flairs . But maybe i'm wrong , photo fuzzy...and i'm no expert on 73 RSR flairs).

I supect Hugh or brian may know about RS 0521-but my understanding in talking to the relevent people that the exchange of the engines were done based on two racers needs being met with exchange of engines.Stanley Palmer told me the engine was waay to hot for his needs and events he was planning to do.Thus the switch and eventually ended up in chassis number RS 1500 and then case destroyed.I am sure that josh sadler and steve carr know the details much better.

Brian might have some information but I have never run across any information on 0521 except in relation to its engine being involved with 0001.

Maybe it's just me but I really enjoy seeing these period photos of a couple of M471 cars with 6 & 7" wheels, period tires, and no side script.

    Rs 001

    Raj,
great thread and most interesting car. Nice to see it well restored and enjoyed.
In the late '90s (probably 1997 or 1998) I was living in London, and went to Autofarm to have a look at a 73S; I was a total novice and ended up chatting with Josh by the side of this car, that was in the process of being restored. He wasn't certain to which of the various (and all of them interesting!) configurations to restore it, but I think the decision was right.

By the way, RS 1500 seems not to have been destroyed, it was sold 2 months ago in the UK...http://www.bonhams.com/eur/auction/19289/lot/273/#

Thank you very much v123 ,

Great article , but when speaking of the McCartney Brothers, i'm surprised they did not mention Ronnie McCartney's 2nd place overall finish at the 1974 Circuit of Ireland , behind Cahal Curley , both in a F-series Carrera RS's.

And the line about how Tordoff "never damages a car" was not accurate.
