    choice of brake pads?

For STREET driven cars and some auto-x a few times a summer, what are you guys finding is your preferred brake pad? Lots of choices and price is not a factor - just the best pedal feel based on your experience..................

    blast away

I use PAGID high performance 'black' street pads...

I'm running SC front brakes and stock rears on my '73

I've gotten good all-around performance and ware for street, hills, and track with these pads...

    Cheers

no problem, I thought I may have been unaware of a new brake pad.

Will the Pagid blacks fit in stock '71 'S' brakes- alloy fronts, steel rear-?

    Ferodo DS 2500's

Work well on the street, track and tarmac rally. Minimal brake dust, can squeal a little but not enough to be a pain.

    Cheers, Cam

    Pagid Prices... the $$ plumeteth!

Just priced Pagid Orange pads for the front brakes on the racecar (stock 1967 vented, itty-bitty pads)..... $179.00!!! I checked my receipts and found out I paid "only" $83 in 2005 for the set that's worn out.

Though I absolutely love the Pagid Orange pads, I may have to look at Hawke or Porterfield or something American-made for my next set of pads.
    sigh

    Hi John,

I understand your plight as the current Dollar vs Euro exchange rates have made everything from Europe more expensive.

I would simply offer some advice to be careful about what you choose since some of the other pad alternatives are VERY tough on rotors and in the end, you'll spend more $$$.

Just one person's opinion so YMMV,

My first question is this the right size and type of pads? I know I can dismantle the front brakes and have a look/try -but my car is stored away from the house right now. And next time I am going to the garage would be a good time to fit them!

It is race pads so maybe it is over the top to put it on my street car? Have anyone trieded Ferodo DS 3000 on their road car. I kind of love that only for racing on the street thing. To much squealing and not enough bite when cold? But then again I love the bite when warm from those Ferodos. And the best thing if they fit, I already have them ready on my shelf
