CV joint boot ???

Hello all

About 4 months ago, while poking around under my car, I noticed one of my cv joints throwing grease, ok time for new boots. I order up some from pelican and go to install them. Well the boots I pulled off were 1 piece, meaning the boot and the large end metal piece, were one piece. The part I received from Pelican was a simple boot. Ok I'll pull the old boot out of the metal piece and re-use the metal piece (the new boot large end barely fit on the metal piece). Re-assemble and re-pack. Well Sat. I was under the car to adjust the clutch, and guess what....still throwing grease...no cuts in the boot, so I can only assume my makeshift boot retrofit was in-effective.


So question...Are the CV joint boots with the intregual metal piece (large end)
available anywhere?

Ok, here's a pic of what I originally removed, is it possible someone used a vw part? does it fit? At 10 bucks I may give it a shot...

Dave on the 65 I had I used super beetle CV boots worked like a charm.
