    Porscheplatz Long Beach ALMS

I am a registry member and PCA member but will be driving a BMW (too many passengers) to the Long Beach ALMS race on Saturday. I would like to participate in the Porscheplatz activities but am not sure how the program works. I have the schedule of events but do not see where the Porscheplatz parking is on the track map. Can I park with the Porsches in the Porscheplatz? If so, where is the reserved Porscheplatz parking?

    Thanks!, here are some photos

Fleiger, you may want to see if they are having a BMW Platz Corral? Pretty sure Porsche only.

Those who were at Willow last month saw the Penske team getting ready for the season. They had #7 there for testing the next day..We must have rubbed off

Even if I cannot put the BMW in with the Porsches, I feel I should still be able to participate in all the Porscheplatz activities on Saturday and that I should only have to pay Porscheplatz parking, which is a different rate than general admission plus parking.

After all, I am a PCA member and a big Porsche enthusiast. I just can't bring my guests in my "track-ish" car.

    Am I out of line?

In support of Porsche, there are two days of additional activity provided by a Porscheplatz tent and a Porsche-only parking corral in the immediate vicinity of the race course.

The Porscheplatz tent provides Porsche owners a plethora of activity that includes visits by the Porsche team drivers and managers, special presentations by factory VIPs and interaction with National Porsche Club staff. There are also a number of special memorabilia and a grand opportunity to join the Porsche teams in the hot pits in full race suit and right in the middle of the action. See www.imsaracing.net for the full agenda of activities (click the IMSA Car Corrals button).

Registration for the Porscheplatz tent happens on site and I highly recommend that you do so at the earliest opportunity when you arrive at the track. There are limited numbers of give-away items available – but there is full access to come in , have a seat, bring your lunch or snacks and watch the action on the big screen closed-circuit feeds.

As to corral parking, there are also a limited number of parking spaces – but as of today there are still several openings!! They are only available through a direct visit to the box office or by phone at 888-82-SPEED. The price alone is a big draw – only $20.00 a day to get this close to the venue. But hurry!! By the way, the parking can be purchased with any level of admission ticket – but is NOT available as parking only.

I called and will be there for practice on Friday. With a service charge, parking is $24.

    ALMS in Long Beach

Who is going this weekend? I plan on going Friday and Saturday.

Those going on Saturday, we can meet at Cars and Coffee, caravan north after. We leave at 8, arrive by 9, park in the PorschePlatz.

After the race, go to Belmont Shore, food and drinks at Panama Joes? Traditionally, they have always had great race weekend parties

I am going Saturday only but I need to bring my BMW for the passengers. I am way far away from Corona del Mar.

I thought I was helpful by posting a source for free practice day (Friday) vouchers, but I noticed they were good for last years event. Duh. (I deleted the link).

Anyone know a source for practice day vouchers? Would much rather apply the $25 toward filling my belly with chili dogs, large coke and half a dozen churros followed by a 24 oz. beer chaser; Tecate of course.
