Not for Sale, Price Check RS Wheels

    Rounders,

Truly not for sale at this time but I just purchased a rust free (really!) '70 Targa, 911T Silver/Black. It has four very very nice 7" "RS" wheels, Part Number 911 361 020 11. These are the type that uses the collar cap. I checked one of the wheels' date code and it was a 1976 date code. What is the estimated value of these wheels.

Also, in the trunk was a 14" Fuchs with and Michelin XAS tire on it. It appeared to be never on the road, mint with Porsche factory weights. Thanks.

There's a nice pair on Ebay right now at over $600. Pairs have gone for around $800-$900 and sets to $1,500 ish.
I have nice a matched date code set 10/73' recently purchased in that range.

Just a point of clarification - these should not be described as 7in 'RS' wheels - the only 7in Fuchs used on a '73 RS were the (earlier) version (with part no. 911 360 020 01) which accepted the 3-pronged centre caps...

    Interesting

I was, in fact, wondering about that. The date code on my wheels would be too late but I think the 11-ending part number first showed up while the RS was still in production? Thought I might have even heard somewhere that the later RSs did use the collar cap. Definite no? Thanks.

Allen there is a thread on this subject. It lists a lot of the numbers and their years/ application.

Allen, you probably know this but the 7" 01's was used in the rear for the approx. 500 first 1973 RS cars, then they where used in the front as the rear got the 8" 02's for the rest of the RS production. Later Carreras and I guess some other models got 7" .11 and 8" .12 even later 7" .41 and 8" .42. (all 15")

Not sure if the latest RS skipped to the 7" .11's.

    Hi John,

As far as you know (and therefore confirm what Andyboy said above), did all RS use the 3 prong cap Fuchs? Thanks.

I am not sure, but Andy is very knowledgeable on these wheels. I recommendation is that you PM some of the board members with late production RS's and ask what their wheels have, both number and 3 prong cap.

Good luck and I would have loved to own those wheels. I had the later 41's on my 73S with a date of 1982 on them, yours are much more sought after.

    Takk John,

Maybe you will buy the whole car with the wheels. This is a barn (garage actually) find. The car has literally been parked for 25 years! 1970 911T. Once I replace the back window and get it running, I plan to sell it. Is is, as I mentioned before, a true rust free CA car.

PS I've already taken off the funky mirror and put on a factory correct one...first things first!
