    Rustproofing a 65

    My 65 has rust in both rocker panels below the holes for the deco strips. There are rust holes, one on each side, below the lower corners of the rear window, just above the engine lid. That's the only rust on the car.

    When the rusty metal is cut away I'd like to put something inside to stop future rusting. I think this is especially important in the rockers. I'll be enjoying this car so Murphy is sure to see to it that she'll be driven in the rain on occasion.

    We'll have good access through the holes before we patch in new metal. What should we inject, spray, or brush on the inside spaces before we close things up?

    Alan I don't have a straight recommendation for you but there is a guy called Darryl who is restoring a 912 and who has written / illustrated an extensive diary about restoring his car. He uses several brands off rust sealers / encapsulators to prevent future rust. His link is:
