who makes the twin plug distibutors ?

I got an email from my friend overseas ,

he is looking for a twin plug distibutor,

I know there are some billet ones around ,
anyone know who makes them ?

or is there a better idea ?

    Thanks

Jerry Woods makes them for SWB Alu engines. Andial sells them for the other. There are more suppliers though.

    Chuck,

E-mail me directly and I'll shoot some pics of one that we have made for us. Its a billet unit using a Jag cap, custom rotor, and GM electrics w/advance. They come in two sizes: a 27mm shaft one for 2.0 & 2.2 motors & a 30mm version for the 2.4 and later engines.

Steve has one, as mentioned above, Supertec has the Burn Bros twin plug dizzy and Mike Bruns has one, too. Mike's uses a custom cap, while the Burn Bros, like Steve's, uses the ubiquitous Jag cap. The other options, I believe, use the ultra rare Bosch cap and at $2K per cap, not worth most people's time.

I recently put one of the Supertec/Burn Bros twin plug dizzies in my 911 and can recommend it highly. Aeron at Supertec was very helpful and got the advance curve set very well for my motor.

I am not an expert on the subject, but be sure to look into what kind of internal timing mechanism the dizzy you are looking at uses. The Sepertec unit uses 911 SC internals, and was able to accomodate my short stroke 2.8 rotation issues without having to go to an external electronic advance unit. Another unit I looked at uses modified GM internals and could not accomodate the counter clockwise rotation I needed without going to an external advnace unit.

    Good point!!

I too, would recommend one of Supertec's units for the CCW rotating engines as the GM advance doesn't accomodate that properly.
