    Thumbs up Last Sunday at BIG Willow

    Last Sunday I went out to support my friends running the first POC STS (Short Track Series) event held on the BIG track at Willow Springs International Raceway.
    The event was in conjunction with the regular POC Time Trial and Cub Race schedule. The combined entry was over 175 cars, and most thought it was a big success.

    This is one event I really should have attended, unfortunately the schedule just got 'ahead of me'…
    However, I did jump in the blue car and went out (via the long way through the mountains) to hang with my buds...

    The weather was cool, clear, and breezy. And, except for a late-in-the-day head wind up the front straight, the track was clean and fast...

    Buddy and Registry member Chris Tallon was running his olive RS spec '73E. New member and friend Chris Messano was in his 'stock' silver 4 speed '73E, and Chris M's friend, Jeff C. was in his beautiful dark metallic green 993…. Fun, fun, fun...

    Chris M. in his '73 stocker won his class at his very first time out... how cool is that....


    And my buddy Chris T.? Well, not only did he trophie his class ... but did what I've wanted to do for years. He made an early 911 street car break out of 'the 40's'... posting a 1:39.54 on the BIG track !!!!!!!

    This, my friends, is going REALLY fast...... good'on'ya bud

    So bummed I couldn't be there too. But the Cub Scout campout was the same weekend. Priorities.

    Chris -- Breaking 1:40! Dude! Awesome!

    Looking forward to my first POC event in a couple weeks at the Big Track Time Trial in the 911E. Just had my roll bar and new race seat installed. Can't wait!
