How to loosen the water pump strap

I would like to remove my water pump but to save the OEM straps. How do you loosen those? Just turning CCW w/ a pin?

    Thanks,

    Richard

    Richard,
Don't have your answer because mine was floating around the trunk when I bought the car so I ripped it out. However I have since purchased a new pump, hoses, connections and cleaned up my bottle. So when you get the pump off can you snap a pic for me? I am assuming there will be some sort of raised brackets to allow the 3 nipple bushings to be inserted. TX!

    Bob,

I followed Tony's advise and simply unwound it (if I recall correct, clockwise; opposite of a regular bolt).

What exactly do you want to see pictures off? The pump was only attached w/ the 2 straps.

My original crusty pump had 3 rubber nipple type bushings. The new pump did not come with these bushings so I was going to rob them from my old one. They slot into the base of the pump and assumed they get inserted into the pan.
BTW - these nipple inserts are $9 ea...who would've thunk.
