Question regarding 1967 lights (turn signals and headlights)

OK, just got a '67 and I am going to make kind of a T/R out of it. Mechanically it is 100% but needs paint and some general cosmetics.

    1. What are the correct headlights for these cars? Are H-1s too new? Seems most have those old smooth lense type lights. What would have been the european delivery at the time?

    2. Turn signals... It has the correct US stuff right now. Is there a vendor that sells good reproduction euro lenses with the chrome trim?

    Thanks!

Ahhh, I see you bought Nick's old car... Monty did a lot of work on that car, and I hear it runs out pretty well.

The Euro light at the time was a Bosch unit that has a replaceable bulb and fluted lense as you would expect. There's a pair on ebay or Pelican right now, can't remember which. There's another way to go though... as the Bosch units run Tungsten bulbs. Get a current h-4 and replace the lense with one from a Euro 356 Hella unit. The lenses are currently available from some 356 suppliers.

The replacement Euro turn and tail lenses look great, but they are a pain to put in. I bought a real nice set of the whole units that were completely done with the replacement lenses, and you can only tell if you look very closely that they were the replacement lenses.

These are available from most supplers, Pelican, etc. They are on ebay as well.

If we can hook up sometime you're welcome to take a look at how my lenses were done... they did re-rivet them. You can drive over to the cabin with the new ride on most weekends...we'll be there.

Seems that the registry is slow giving email notifications... I just received notice of your response and it has been a few days since it was posted.

Eric, thanks for your response. Kenik actually had some extra clear lenses so I will mount those up to some old H-4s that I have. No luck finding turn signal lenses yet so if you run across a link, please send it to me.

Big weekend on the car... it is now nearly 100% rust free! Well, its missing several body panels... All the cancer is cut out and I am down to shiny fresh metal. Now I just need to order some parts from Stoddard and get welding. Hopefully the car will be ready for paint within a couple weeks. I can't wait!

Once I get back to reassembly, I am sure I will have several questions for you and a list of parts that I need help finding.

Aren't they still available from Stoddard?

Thanks for the Stoddard link! I have never ordered through them but placed my first one this morning for some sheet metal...seems like a great company. Those euro lenses are exactly what I was looking for, however, what is the deal with the missing Chrome trim? The original lenses on my car have chrome trim and the aftermarket Stoddard ones do not. Is there an easy way to duplicate the chrome trim? Are there better repros out there that do have the chrome trim?

As for the pics Kenik...are you sure you want to see them???

Oh yeah. Stoddard has the Euro lenses? Chris, can you add two to your order or is too late?

Nevermind, the chrome is part of the housing and not part of the lense. Soooo, the repro lenses look fine. Rennspeed also caries them at rennspd.com. I am not going to order mine till paint is done but I will post my opinions.
