Did late '68S engine have mag case?

Title says it all....did the late '68 901/2 have a mag case like the normal engines did?

Yes, I have reposted the link below a little further down in this thread..Agrees with Claudius' findings.

OK, weird. It appears there was a late '68 S engine with the mag case, but kind of obscure because it was only in Europe for '68. It would be a 901/2. I think there is a misprint in the Red Book. Bruce Anderson says 901/2 was 67 and 68.

    Change Aluminum to Magnesium crankcase

I have discussed the question about the date of magnesium case introduction with Porsche Zuffenhausen some years ago.
Porsche told me that the date was January 9, 1968.

911S at the end of aluminum case production I know about:
    11800440 engine 4080522 aluminum case delivered 05.12.1967
    11800539 engine 4080659 aluminum case

From a prior post...Alu to Magnesium date

In case your interested in cases,

I'm bringing back this thread from almost 3 years ago! From members, can we confirm some engine numbers with Kardex manufacturing dates for cars with these engines. I'd guess, the dates changed depending on engine type? My information from below came from the SWB Picture Parts Book. I believe most were in January 1968 but would like to confirm. Thanks.
