    Herbert Linge / Autotechnikauktion.de Auction

It looks like Herbert Linge has decided to part with a number of items from his life with Porsche and the ONS.

    He kept some fantastic stuff:

Very interesting, hope that some end up in a museum, thanks for pointing out the auction.

    Wink Porsche Museum

When the Museum will open (anybody heard of an eventual date?) it will certainly be interesting to see if the factory will display period memorabilia, rare accessories, trophies, or just the cars.

It's surprising that the factory didn't just buy outright everything owned by Herbert Linge. He's contribution was quite something.

It could also be that the most important items have already been sold to the factory and what we have here is only "the rest".

Stuttgart's official construction website 'Stuttgart Builds' has the completion date pegged at December 2008... so probably a few months after that.

On a similar topic did anyone ever figure out 'The Porsche Code' numerical system used to track items between the old and new museums?

    911 steering wheel

Very funny...however most women are not really impressed by a vintage pair of racing gloves and an old bag with someone else's initials.....

In any case, the steering wheel illustrated above made USD 4.600! it was the one that belonged to the first 911 to be entered at a Monte Carlo rallye in 1965....
