    Deep vs. Flat Fuchs '68, '69, '70 ????

Can anyone offer up when the transition for 911s' took place.
That is: when did deep 6jx15 stop and they started putting on 6jx15 "flat"s.
On-line parts catalogs compared to E911reg Tech article seem to indicate it was from the 69 to 1970/1 year. Do the printed catalogs indicate otherwise?

Next question where does the term flat vs deep come from? both old and new each have a 36 offset?

    TIA

Not sure if this helps, but my car has a build date of 3/71 and has deep sixes. I spoke to the second owner and he got the car after the original owner had only a year or so. He said the deeps were on the car when he bought it and believed that they were on it as ordered. I have not done a cardex yet, but I have to believe that they were original to the car.
