Which aftermarket seats are the most comfortable?

I bought some attractive aftermarket houndstooth seats but found them to be somewhat uncomfortable. Which of the after market seats have you found to be very comfortable?

    Cheers, Don

Post some pic's of the seats and let us see what you have.
I have a set of Vintage 911R seats in my 70T, a set of mid 80's cloth recaro's in my 72T and a set of GTS seats in my 73T targa. The Vintage Seats are by far the best. Light and amazingly firm with just a little give in the turns.
If you are not willing to drop $5k for a set of real original recaro sport seats, you should really consider the replica 911R or RS seat from Vintage Seats.
    Now post some pic's....

It all depends on your size. Many people love the various replicas of the Recaro R and ST seats, but I (at 6ft1 and 220 lbs) find that they feel like I am sitting in a Junior High School lunchroom chair. They hit me right beneath the shoulder blades. For someone three inches shorter and thirty pounds lighter, they would probably be perfect.

I run the fiberglass Scheel seats from the early 70's and find them to be perfect for me. I have driven cross country in them and never feel uncomfortable or fatigued. I like them as much or better than the seats in my Audi. The Scheels are just a few inches bigger with more knee support and a higher backrest.

You can search for Scheel and get more info.

The original coupe seat is like riding on a waterbed. The original factory sport seats should've been the standard stock seating. My favorite is the Vintage Seats RS version. Firm with great leg support yet comfortable on a long drive. They remind me of my speedster's seats which I really like plus they look cool. I got the standard not the wide. 5'10", 180lbs. SS

I have both the Vintage Seats RS model and a new TRE Motorsports ST model. The Vintage Seats model, which was my drivers seat for the last four years, now my passenger seat, is incredibly light, perfect for street driving and track days with the 3-point street belt. I bought the new TRE seat to be used with a 6-point harness for track days plus my daily street driving. The seat is AWESOME. A bit heavier than the VS RS, the sides are higher and deeper, with substrap and lap belt holes for my 6-point harness. But as mentioned above, your body type/size will determine which seat is right for you. I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs.

If we include modern seats, I would say Recardo SRD without question. For comfort I really don't like any of the vintage seats.

Would you, please, post a picture of the Scheel seats that you like? Thanks. Tom

I am amazed to hear that they're all fiberglass. I have tried one, and it felt as rigid as a steel frame seat.
