Feeler: Anybody know what a nice used Webasto heater is worth?

I am considering one for my '69S if I go to headers (no heat exchangers).

There is a decent one for sale on Ebay; we'll see what happens.

    Kenik,

I pulled the heater out of my '66. It's got all the wiring down to the dash switch and, I think, all the vent line inserts for the defroster. No exhaust pipe though. I'll post a pic later. I also have the heater insert to the factory service manual I could copy if you don't already have it. Let me know if you're interested...it'll be reasonable.

I don't suppose you have an extra flat 6 Fuchs lying around?

    ebay heater

The heater on ebay has the later transitor type controller. They are considered to be less problematic than the "timer box controler"units. It is also the more correct style for you 69. $400 -$500 is about par for the course for a complete system. $500 more for the exhaust. Happy hunting tom

    Here's a pic...but maybe it's not what you're looking for.

To keep the theme going, can anyone highlight the visual difference between the early and late Webasto heater? I believe this is a late one:

Notice the DIN plug for the wiring harness on the heater that seem to match up to the transistor box above it.

I am happy to attempt to install the earlier version, but am trying to figure out the differences.
