Cleaning out the garage - need some help with prices

    All -

I've got some early engine stuff I need to get out of my garage, and don't have a clue as to value. I would prefer that this goes to an enthusiast rather than a flipper, so I thought I would try here first. I read your views on pricing - a nice touch - so I thought I would post here first to get some help on how I should price the parts. I have tried to describe condition as best as I can, but do not have the ability/tools or knowledge/experience that some of you have.

    Early S stuff:
    1970 2.2L S case - Type 911/02, #6310021
Has case savers installed, no squirters or oil pump mod. A few case perimeter studs have pulled and one chain housing stud has been replaced by an M10 allen head screw. One intermediate shaft cover stud and one engine to trans stud are missing. When I tore down this motor, I had the impression that the PO had driven it hard and put it away wet. I don't have the ability to check the main saddles, but would expect them to need work.

2.2S counterweighted crankshaft. I remember that this crank measured standard/standard, but can re-check and post measurements. Has not been magnafluxed or checked for straightness. Needs only polish.

2.2S Rods - Have a set of 5 nitrated 2.2S rods, with one weight matched non-nitrated rod. Don't have the ability to check rod big-ends, but do know that the non-nitrated rod had a spun bearing when removed.

Bosch 007 Early S distributor with about 2K miles on a supertech rebuild.

    Other stuff:
Early oil pump - excellent condition

1 set used rockers/shafts complete except one is missing the adjusting screw. Will need rebush/reface.

Intermediate shaft w/ "0" gear - looks to be in excellent condition

Set of older style chain idler arms

2.2E MFI setup (Pump, Throttle bodies, stacks, hardlines, linkages, cross-bar). Pump is free but has been sitting. I would assume that both the pump and throttle bodies need to be refreshed.

Set of case through bolts, nuts & washers.

Earls 25 row oil cooler, P/N 42512, unused but a bit scarred up from my aborted attempt to install. 13" x 7 3/4" with -12 fittings.

Mocal thermostat, unused like above p/n OT2 with -12 fittings.

I can take pictures of all of this, but I have a dial-up connection and would prefer to limit this to really needed ones.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

In swap meet format, as on this discussion board, I would try some "high" numbers to start and then drop down until the stuff sells. No one really knows just how much these items are "worth". It just depends on the level of need and the number of buyers. Your items certainly should be attractive to some people on this board. Here are my thoughts (which are sure to be challenged by others but that's all part of the fun!):

    1970 2.2L S case - Type 911/02, #6310021 - $1000

    2.2S Rods - $400

Bosch 007 Early S distributor with about 2K miles on a supertech rebuild. - $200

    Early oil pump - $50

1 set used rockers/shafts complete except one is missing the adjusting screw. Will need rebush/reface. - $200

    Intermediate shaft w/ "0" gear - $250

Set of older style chain idler arms - $15

2.2E MFI setup (Pump, Throttle bodies, stacks, hardlines, linkages, cross-bar). Pump is free but has been sitting. I would assume that both the pump and throttle bodies need to be refreshed. - $1000

Set of case through bolts, nuts & washers. - $10

Earls 25 row oil cooler, P/N 42512, unused but a bit scarred up from my aborted attempt to install. 13" x 7 3/4" with -12 fittings. - $300

    Mocal thermostat, unused like above p/n OT2 with -12 fittings. - $25

I would be interested in the crank and set of case trough bolts.

Just to be clear the case serial # given is for a '71 2.2S case. The third digit is '1' for '71. Is the serial # posted above correct for the case?

    Thanks for the responses, gentlemen.

Fryardds - the serial number is correct. I assumed that it was a '70 case due to the lack of squirters - I thought that the '71 cases had them.

I will try to get photos this evening and post everything tomorrow.

    Thanks for the help, gents.

The stuff has now been posted to the classifieds in three posts due to the limits on photo attachments.

Mopar - BAT Industries carries the coolers for far less than Summit Racing. I included their pricing in the post.

    Again, thanks for the help.

A couple years ago I paid $800 for a 2.2S crank. Nobody would give me $300 for a set of NOS rods.

If anyone has a matched weight set of NOS 2.4S rods, let me know!
