R Decklid - Thank You Mr. Bob Tilton!

I finally got my R decklid mod done ala the Tilton method. Took me a couple of months as I am burning the candle at both ends with work, but I got 'er done. A big thanks goes to Bob for sharing the procedure with us and to Michael Downing for providing the base grill to work with. Here is an opportunity to highlight another R decklid mod. And to unabashadly show pictures of my car...

Thank you. I took a couple before I removed the grill before final paint. I will try to find those. Just let me know if there is a view you would like to see in particular.

    Cool

Great looking car. How much does the car weigh?

More detail photos of the deck lid would be appreciated.

Again, thanks for the compliments guys - means a lot coming from long time early 911 hotrodders.

Bob, thanks for the photo kudos. They are not the greatest (like yours), but are the best I could do on quick notice. I was excersizing the car after final grill install and saw the end to the overcast day and clear skies for the evening (pilots tend to watch that stuff) and I thought, gotta get home to wash and photo - the light is going to be great. I actually got the last rays of useable light in a very narrow area of the grass.

Bert, when I last had the car weighed and corner balanced, it came in at 2125 lbs with 3/4 tank of gas. I am going by memory though, so I could be off. It probably now weighs 2124 lbs 12oz since I drilled the rear hinges to go with my new grill.

Curt, not tellin' bro. You'll just have to wait and see. I will have a really hard time keeping up with you though. Your red interior may have given me inspiration to do something I have wanted to do since I got the car, but that will probably have to wait. Actually, what's always next is to fix that damn cutout problem.
