    Floorboard replacement

I've got a 912 that needs floorboard replacement....I'm only handy at writing checks for this type of work

How many hours should this be? Rockers look good to me from inside and outside, as do jack points....but you never know. How many hours to do rockers as well? Front horseshoe has already been done on this car.

    thanks,
    Eric

    Rod Emory did mine...

I know that's not a response to your questions about hours, etc. But you know the Emorys as well as I and they could probably give you an honest estimate about the hours. If you were to use Rod, I believe he still has the jig that he built for my car so he has the ability to hold all four corners in the proper place while he replaces the bottom of the car.

    Anyway just a suggestion.

    cheers!

    floor boards

Eric...after purchasing the actual replacement floors, figure labor to be about 5 hours per panel ( if you do 4) . The rate should be $30-$40 per hour. Cutting and trimming are the most important with welding ( factory) a very close second. I would hate to see your car arriving somewhere be4 you

You can save some money by doing some grunt work yourself. Pulling seats/rails, carpet, and other interior components to get access to the pans. I just went through this on a '68 and maybe it is a Northwest thing, but labor rates were much higher than $30-$40/hr. I think I paid around $60/hr. End result was very good. I would consider doubling your budget cause rust is an elusive creature. Once the undercoatiing comes off, I'd bet you will find other areas needing replacment.
