I don't know if it's a bum rap Steven... I think it's funny. We all have proprietary secrets (gawd knows I do), but I thought it was a tad smug. Sure as sheet got Mr. Scheer's goat.

That was funny. Essentially, the reader was offended that in the story we didnt come right out and say exactly what car the larger hella driving lamps came from. Jeff told me that they were from Mercedes, and I assumed that when I described them as being sourced from a German luxury car, that the list of suspects would be narrow enough for the average person to figure it out.

So, while trying to be clever, I threw Smith under the bus. Oh well, he probably deserves it anyway.

I guess I should know better after being lambasted by the guy who visited his local Porsche dealer trying to buy a reasonably priced 910..........

And naw, you didn't throw Jeff under the bus. A little bit of hate mail is a good thing; keeps us humble. Great article and photos by the way, and a great car built by a grea..., er I mean, an ok guy.

I just wish he'd do his friggin' homework to get the lights right. Sheesh, what a rookie move!! (All he had to do was ask Cabell).

It was a letter in response to the article Dave wrote about Schmidt's interpro-retro(sic) Silver T in the April Excellence. The gentleman wished for more info on the "proprietary" fog lights. If you haven't seen the article, you should find a copy somewhere. Highly recommended reading.
