Anybody seen these repro Fuchs 4.5 and 5.5s?

Has anyone see these wheels in person, or had any experience with them?

Cheap enough to buy and extra set and leave your studded snow tires mounted, eh?

If they are as fine as the floor jacks "Made In China" I'd be reluctant to install them on a car. If they can pass German TUV standards I'd have more confidence.

Why do aftermarket guys have such a hard time getting the paddles right? Maybe it's just the crappy inaccurate paint job...

    Eric, Tom....

let all the Vdub guys know what a good deal these are...there GREAT and cheap. WOW they come polished. They come chromed...WOW! They come in two sizes! They are cheap! They use a standard valve. A buck-fifty a pop..WOW. They don't come any cheaper than this. Boy do they look good. And you don't have to send them out to be refinished, how sweet can it get. Send everybody over to that site today....from a thousand miles away I can see these are THE good deal...

So, thus far the answer is "No" to whether anybody has actually seen one of these in the flesh.

Eric, I agree, it's too bad that they don't look quite right. It's also too bad that these didn't come out years ago, to give VW guys an alternative to snapping up all of the early narrow original Fuchs wheels. Maybe these will tempt some guys to sell their original Fuchs, and buy a second custom Bug with the proceeds.

    Post Fake Fuchs

The wheels are made by Flat4 in japan.(actually dont look as bad as pics) These guys copy everything BRM's, EMPI 5 spoke, Sprint Stars, Abarth Exhausts, Banjo wheels. http://www.flat4.co.jp/f4original/f4_emain.html
They have been out for about a yr, Haven't seen the real ones go down in price..........

Not a chance. The guys with real Fuchs won't give them up. You're just gonna have to step up to the plate.

I've seen those repros in person, and compared to most repros of various sizes over the years, these ones are among the most accurate. Besides what has been posted, the shape of the triangle cutout is not quite right near the outer rim. The hole in the middle accepts the late ring type center caps

Having owned Flat 4 BRMs, they make a very nice product. I'd like to see a set of these anodized by Harvey...

I'll bet they are too expensive to make in Japan. Even the Japanese are out-sourcing to Korea and China. Labor costs money.
The Chinese can copy anything if given a blue print and the parameters for QC and materials.
