    Bummer Man

Went out of town Saturday evening for dinner and to look at a 71T. I was looking for a parts car really so I checked it out. Asking $6000 for a rotted T body with a widebody kit on it. Front end was chopped to short hood status, rear widened huge with whaletail and much later model interior put in it. Probably only really usable parts are the doors, all glass, Webers and tranny plus a few sundry items. Am I out of line thinking an offer of $2000 is appropriate and not an all out insult to the fella?

Not in my estimation. If you offer any more, it's an insult to you.

    I agree with Peter....
Parts are parts and they may be in boxes or still on the rusty rolling chassis but they are still parts and don't command a dollar value of a restorable car...
Paul...I understand your question very well....been there many times....really the $2k is more than fair...you will not be the only person to "insult" his asking price....not every damn early 911 is worth the big bucks....
