    Suspension questions

    Guys

I want to make some changes to the suspension as I am going to change to a lower profile tyre, the car is a little too low, probably time for a re-bush, and lastly I reckon the front suspesnion is too tight.

Firstly, does my front sway bar look factory or aftermarket? Is it adjustable? How can I measure its thickness?

Which is heavier duty for Bilstein shocks - Sport or Heavy Duty?

    Thanks guys

    Cam...

Looks like a Factory OEM sway bar set up and it is not adjustable...you can try to measure the diameter of the bar where it comes out of the body...only other place to access with out taking it out is in the trunk/boot at the top back of the fuel tank but you have to have some small hands

The Bilstein Sports are stiffer...they are the "heavier duty" of the two

I have found the diameter in mm stamped into the butt end of a lot of OEM bars. Take a wire brush to the square end of the bar where it protrudes thru the lever arm to clean off any road gunk and look closely for it before trying to measure. You may get lucky.

    cam,

one way to measure the bar diameter is to try and fit a spanner past the rear edge of the fuel tank and over the bar. loose = too big, won't go = too small, snug = diameter.

i found this easier than trying to get a vernier in there. it will probably be 15 or 16mm. give me a call if this makes no sense...
