    Chuck,
Is the name, "Early 911S Registry" registered? It is if the organization's materials includes the ® mark next to its name. There's other paperwork too, but in my non-legal research, that symbol might be needed. Hope any confusion with this ebay seller can be clarified.

However, the issue of usernames as copyrighted or registered ownership is an interesting concept. My zero years in law school and never having taken the bar exam tells me there is nothing prohibiting the use of the name for this purpose, or perhaps the fish are too small to fry.

Out of curiosity, I found the following Ebay user names. These were my first attempts, and all seem to be legit; only one (IBM) seems to belong to the named company:

    chevrolet (private seller since '98)
rgruppe (0 feedback, no activity since '03)
panasonic (0 feedback, no activity since '98)
sony (German seller, 0 feedback, no longer registered)
    porsche (private seller)
    911 (private seller)
ibm (seems to belong to IBM Corp.)

    FWIW,
    Sherwood

    same problem

We had the same problem with someone on Ebay using our company name. We would get "his" customers call us and yelling about the transaction BS he had done. This went on for about 2-3 yrs, and yes we tried to "sting" him several times and we could not. Ahh, so we put our very best female email and telephone voice up for the ultimate sting. "we got him" and it turned out he was one of the baseball coaches from the higher learning institution across the street from our office.......to his sad demise, I knew the "head baseball" coach very well. SH !!!
