Door and Map Pocket Upholstery Staples - Where to Get?

Last year I restored all four door pockets and they turned out great. Now a year or so later, the vinyl is pulling away from the back of the pockets. I did not staple them like the factory did since I could not find staples short enough. Obviously, the glue is not strong enough to hold down the vinyl around those bends long term. How have you guys solved this issue? Does anyone know if there is a commercially available staple gun for upholstery that uses short staples? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Scott I just had this issue on my '68's flat piece of my two piece dash. Just contact cement did not hold the vinyl. I looked around and could not for the life of me locate 1/8" staples. Hobby stores, hardware stores, internet, etc. So what I ended up doing was to just use regular old office staples, but I only pushed them in about 1/16 to 1/8, then just tapped them with a small hammer to bend them over. Worked fine.

Just don't push too far or you'll poke through.

Scott, I went to an upholstery supply house, got a reference from my usual upholstery guy as to where he gets his stuff. They had the short staples and a hand operated gun with which to install the staples. (the pros use air power!)
